Obituary for Karen Sergeant

Karen Sergeant, age 69, went to heaven on May 10th, 2019. She earned her Degree in Healthcare at Hagerstown Community College in Georgetown, Maryland for medical transcription from 1969-1971. Karen then worked 42 years in healthcare administration helping to take care of others. Much of this time was at Luke AFB and soon after retiring she continued her legacy of caring for others by volunteering with the Red Cross. Karen loved to read, travel and spoil her grandchildren. She is survived her husband Mike, daughter Jennifer, step children Wenya, Chris and William, six grandchildren, Joanna, Megan, Kaylee, Shila, Zack and Jax. She is also survived by her siblings Holly (Jim) and Gil (Krista), niece Heather, nephews Tim and Josh and countless friends. Karen was greeted in heaven by her parents Gil and Almeda and her son Chris.

A service will be held at Christ’s Church of the Valley, 7007 W Happy Valley Road Bldg. 400, Peoria, AZ 85383, on May 17th at 10am. If you wish, donations may be made in Karen’s honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Red Cross, or the charity of your choice.

She leaves us rich in love and memories.
