Obituary for Essa George Kokali, Jr.

Essa “George” Kokali Jr., of Glendale, was born November 13, 1950 and entered into rest on October 5, 2019. He is survived by his children Cynthia Bordson, Iva (Randy) Rody and George (Melissa) Kokali, sisters Mary Brimberry, Elizabeth Penny and Judith Kokali, brothers Paul Kokali and Tommy Kokali, 9 grandchildren, step-mother Debortha “Jo” Kokali and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Kokali, father Essa “George” Kokali Sr. and brother Mike. George was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Arizona in the 1960’s. He graduated from Maryvale H.S., served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1970 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his service, he started a general contracting business. George was an avid music lover and enjoyed fishing, camping and dancing. He could often be found spending time with his Veteran friends and sister Mary at the American Legion Post 29. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church of the Valley (CCV) located at 7007 W, Happy Valley Rd. Building 400, Peoria, AZ 85383.
