- Greg Munoz, born July 31, 1973, passed away on February 28, 2010. Greg graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1999 with a degree in Biology, with a secondary education emphasis and a minor in Chemistry. While at NAU, Greg was a recipient of the NAU Louie Award (excellence in student achievements), Pan-American Golf Association scholarship, nominated employee of the year (1997) at NAU, active member of LULAC, MECHA, core member of B of A Minority Leadership program, and northern Arizona regional representative member for Arizona Association for Chicanos in Higher Education (AACHE). He has taught at various schools throughout the valley and at Cibecue community school and the White Mountain Apache reservation. Many of you have enjoyed his ramblings about his knowledge of all the native plants in Arizona and sharing that information with anyone that would listen. He would also discuss various types of rocks found in Arizona and even talked about all the sites he has taken his brother-in-law over the last two years. Greg was also an advocate for the Hydrocephalus Association and a Multiple Sclerosis Society activist. He will leave a very large void in the hearts of his loving family. He is survived by his loving parents Leo and Teresa; sister Teri Lynn (Bob) Furchak; grandmother Natalia Munoz; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
