Howard Allen Brandman

Died: Wednesday, February 24, 2010
Howard Allen Brandman age 89 passed away February 24, 2010 in Prescott, Az following complications from surgery surrounded by his loving family at his side.
He was born March 1, 1920 in Newark, NJ son of Fred and Sophie (Berkowitz) Brandman.

He attended North Carolina University and Pace University in New York City before he enlisted in the US Army during World War II and went to Officer training school and was commissioned a 2nd Lt where he served in the European Theatre during the War prior to the D Day invasion until the end of the war. He was recalled for active duty for the Korean war and remained in the Air Force until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel in 1967. he worked for the Housing and Urban Development Dept in Washington,DC
for 10 years. He and his wife Miriam moved to Palm Beach County in South Florida where they stayed active in the community. They then moved to Prescott, Az in 2006 and lived at the Granite Gate Community where they made many friends.

He married his high school sweetheart Miriam and they shared 67 years together before his passing. His family will remember him as a man who loved life and travel and shared this love with his family. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather and by his loving friends around the country.
Howard is survived by his loving wife Miriam, sons David and Richard and their wives Lori and Bobby; Granddaughter Amy McKee and her husband Tim Great Grandchildren Ava and Jacob Nephew Michael and his wife JoAnna and Niece Marilyn Schmidman and
her husband Howard and his cousin Bobbie Newman.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd Phoenix, AZ with full Military Honors provided by Luke AFB honor detail. Memorials in his memory can be made to the Alzheimers Association Desert Southwest Chapter Heritage Memory Mortuary Prescott, Az is caring for the family.
